RE: Rank your RV issues
I had a floor failing on my 99 thor TT which I did a reconstruction.
Last year I had some brake issues with my present Jayco that set me back a few $$$. Not direct RV related, but had nuisance issues with a rusting reciever hitch on my past Tacoma

RE: Maine Coastal Campground Suggestions
Take a look into the Camden, rockport, rockland part of ME. Charming upscale seaport area with shops about. Hiking, kayaking in the area also. We stayed at Camden Hills State Park but there is plenty more choices to stay in the area. With in a day trip to Acadia.

RE: Montreal?
^^
https://campgrounds.rvlife.com/regions/quebec/st-mathieu-de-beloeil/camping-alouette-3989 when we stayed we took the ferry across the river to visit Montreal/Old Montreal as they have a large commuter lot for parking. If I remember correctly ferry leaves every hour. Campground has directions, worked out well for us.
yeah traffic is heavy around Montreal, especially during commute hrs. As mentioned campground has easy in/out level FHU sites. Park was well maintained.
Everything is urban so you will hear city noise, that said I remember the back part of the park somewhat quieter but don't expect to hear crickets.
2 days visit worked well for us

RE: Tire Advice
Hi,
I recently had a blowout on my 2009 Skyline Layton 2970 TT (8,800 GVWR). Bought it used late last year, great shape, with Goodyears (including spare) on it that also looked in good shape and that I understand were about 3 yrs old. Tread-wise they have at least another year to them, and since I am on a bit of a budget, I could just put the current spare into use and get a new spare. However, even being Goodyears, with the blowout I'm not sure I trust the rest and would rather buy 4 new.
I know how most feel about "china-bombs", but I am on a budget so can't go with the Maxxis or Sailuns everyone raves about. Plus I'm not convinced its as big of a problem as its made out to be (my old TT had Greenballs and then HiRuns, never had a blowout until the Goodyears). So anyway, I have narrowed it down to the following tires (ST225/75R15):
Power King Towmax Vanguard - Load Index 117, Load Range E, Speed N
Trailer King RST - Load Index 117, Load Range E, Speed M
Gladiator QR25-TS - Load Index 117, Load Range E, Speed N
Carlisle Radial Trail HD - Load Index 113, Load Range D, Speed M
Now I know Carlisle is the only one of these brands that seems to be acceptable by many, and it is only about $10-15 more per tire than the others, but it does have lower load and speed specs than the others. The Carlisle specs are sufficient for my TT weight, but I am wondering if getting more load buffer with the 117/E tires might be better, despite those tires being held in less regard.
Looking forward to opinions! Thanks!
Welcome aboard!
I always used the Goodyear Endurance tires.
If you live close to central CT, Bolton Notch RV Storage does good service work on Rvs, maybe give them a call. I don't remember the brand but they also they do offer another cheaper tire that they have had good experience with if you want to save some money.
Good luck

RE: Jayco 23B?
I had a similar Jayco 2011 X20E hybrid. No issues with leaks or roof issues. That said..
I always checked the roof seams and bunk end seals, I would check/spot caulk 2 or 3 times per year. The bunk ends do seem to flex from usage and sometimes are a source for delamination. Just my experience
Good Luck

RE: Help making a decision on truck purchase.
I am thinking of buying a new truck to pull our winnebago micro Minnie 5th wheel. We currently have a 2006 gmc 2500 . I’d like to go with a smaller truck for gas mileage and was thinking of a Toyota Tundra or GMC 1500 4x4. While the trailer is fairly light and we’ve been told a 1500 can pull this trailer, I’d like to hear other opinions. Is there anyone who has any experience towing smaller 5th wheels with these trucks? . Gross Vehicle Weight is 7000 on the trailer.
If you do ever come back to this thread, this is one option if you order a 4X4 F-150 with both the trailer tow PKG & heavy duty payload PKG should give you a payload around 2500#. I have no issues pulling my Jayco 24 RBS. (GTW is 7500# and scaled at 7000#)
